Morning’s Quiet Promise
The sunrise over Umhlanga Rocks.
I decided to use the clear sky to tell the sunrise's story.
I went down to Bronze Beach just before the sunrise and waited patiently for the sun.
The air was cool and calm, and the ocean followed suit. I could feel a slight breeze on my face as I filled my lungs with sea air.
As the sun first peeped out from behind the horizon, it appeared a deep raspberry colour which contrasted against the beautiful morning teal, turquoise and pink colours. There was a ship on the horizon which almost vanished into a feint shadow next to the sunrise.
As the sun rose, it changed from raspberry to light orange, and then into dark oranges and blood reds.
The transformations were incredible to behold, but they also brought a sense of calm and peace. It made me feel that regardless of what happens in life, that everything would be OK.
It was a wonderful start to the day.
South Africa always leaves me breathless in her beauty.
