A beautiful way to start 2026.
The first sunrise of the new year.
It had been very overcast with a bit of light rain overnight, so I didn't know what to expect. I went down to my usual spot at Bronze Beach in Umhlanga Rocks to take a quick photo of the sunrise.
The salty air was thick with humidity, and it seemed that it had been draped over Umhlanga this morning.
The sky was moody with lots of blue clouds overhead. Suddenly the clouds turned pink, but just above the horizon. For me, this was a powerful metaphor for the year past, and looking into the beauty of the year ahead...
South Africa always leaves me breathless in her beauty.
Keep looking for the beauty. It's there...
