Christmas Thunder Hymn

Lightning before Christmas.

A beautiful thunderstorm passed over Umhlanga Rocks this evening as I was getting settled into bed.
Initially it didn't produce too much lightning so I decided to stay in bed, however as the storm went out to sea, my curiosity got the better of me, and I went to take a look to see what the storm was doing.

I could see flashes highlight the beautiful storm clouds and the storm had definitely become a lot more active with its lightning.
I went down to the beach to take some photos.

The humidity hung thick in the air and appeared like a warm blanket of fog over the beach. The flashes of lightning gifted views of the rain hanging above the ocean like curtains blowing in the wind. The horizon was decorated with ships, and appeared like Christmas lights over the ocean instead of in a tree.
As the storm moved away, the stars became visible above the storm, and the scene unfolded like something out of a fantasy book. It was simply majestic and sublime to witness.
