Harbour of Shadows

The more time I spend in Durban, the more of it's magic is revealed to me.

From the incredible sunrises, the magnificent sunsets, the beautiful ocean, the awesome sights, and the mystifying night scenes, Durban truly is a magical place.

I have always loved the ocean and all the wonderment it brings through its different and ever changing moods. But there is a special bit of magic that happens when the lights of a city reflects over the water. It's mesmerising and it draws you in. You can't look away; it's almost hypnotic. The light dancing with the water, revealing the water's shapes and curves. Little scapes appearing for split seconds before disappearing again, only for new little twirls to appear and dissappear. A constant dance...

I took these photos recently. A beautiful evening with calm waters. The ocean smell strong with the hint of a breeze. Clouds decorated the sky adding to the ever changing shapes below.

The first photo shows the Durban Beachfront at night, and the second photo was taken looking out over the harbour.
