Moonfall at Low Tide

The first full moon of 2026.
Initially I had decided to stay in and be lazy with my cats (their influence). We were watching some TV together, and I decided that I simply had to take a look out the window and see if I could see the moon. The moon was shining through from behind the clouds, and it looked spectacular.
I decided to rush down to Bronze Beach in Umhlanga Rocks to take a few photos. My cats weren't impressed...
I suppose I'm just drawn to beauty like a moth to a flame...
It was low tide, and the shoreline revealed so many little hidden treasures in the rocks. A very welcomed cool and salty breeze brought with it some relief after a very hot day. Children were running around on the beach behind me trying to see if they could catch crabs in little nets. The crabs seemed to have evaded their efforts successfully.
You could see the moon rays shine brightly down behind the clouds. I knew I had to wait for either the clouds to blow past, or the moon to rise above them. You could also see the rain coming down like a curtain over the horizon, and the stars shone brightly between the clouds.
A breathtaking scene...
When the moon finally made her appearance between the clouds, she shone big and bright. The first of three supermoons for 2026...
The photos of the moon are composite photos comprising of separate images respectively, photos for the foreground and the scene, and of the moon. The moon has been superimposed onto the foreground images to show you what I saw, as I saw it.
South Africa always leaves me breathless from her beauty.
Look for the beauty, it's there...
I am Proudly South African.
